Laryngitis?

I have this nasty cold and l know lt`s Laryngitis cause my voice is not to good and there`s times where l can`t talk at all. plus lm also ping some brown Phlegm, is this normal with Laryngitis? what can a Doctor give me to break up all the Phlegm cause l feel very uncomfortable? serious replys only please,,,,
