Windows ME network/ethernet question?

I recently got a windows ME computer. (I have other computers so it is just fun to play/do old games with) and the problem is it isn't connecting to my network. It is an "ethernet" network, and YES, it has the drivers for it. And it is pluged in and it does work on other computers so it isn't the network. I used the "internet connection wizard" and used LAN setting/automatic detection, but it isn't connecting. It says it is an DNS error/cannot find server. MY network IS pword protected so would that make it not connect? Where do I "tell" it the pword for my network?
