Home equity loan?

My partner and I are stuck in a house we cannot afford. We have a high mortgage payment, high credit card bills and two car payments. We would like to take out a home equity loan to consolidate/pay off some debt but we cant seem to get one! We don't have good credit. Does anyone know of a company that is good dealing with these situations? We would consider selling but the market is so low right now and we have so much equity in the house! Any ideas for us?
